Backlinks Through Blog Comments - Internet
Blog comments are a very good way to build links back to any website. No matter what your niche is, there are going to be countless blogs where one can leave comments. And each comment is a free link back to your website. And if one considers the fact that there are over 11 blogging platforms, there is a wide variety of links to get by blog commenting. Many of these blog have a high page rank and this is one of the easiest ways to get links from high PR sites. This can also help any site get indexed by search engines fast. Thus by consistently building links through blog commenting, it is possible to rank well in search engines.
How Does Blog Commenting Work?
Blog commenting is a fairly simple process. It requires one to visit blogs and leave comments. But this is not as simple as it sounds. This is because of the following reasons:
No Follow Blogs: These are blogs which have the no follow tag enabled. Whenever a link has an associated no follow tag, Google ignores it. This means that these links do not count towards your page rank. Therefore it is futile to comment on these blogs. But it should be remembered that to make your link building natural, you should leave some comments of no follow blogs too. Plus, a good comment may get you plenty of visitors.
Dead Blogs: This is another major impediment. Many blogs are old and not updated. The Google bot then stops crawling these sites. Since these sites are not crawled any links you get from this site is unlikely to get indexed. These are therefore called dead blogs. These blogs should be totally avoided.
Because of the above problems, blog commenting can get very tedious. Therefore I am listing a few tips which have helped me create a good linking strategy.
1. Use some automation: Trying blog commenting as a link building strategy with automation is kind of stupid. There are so many blogs that it is impossible to sort out the no follow and dead blogs from them manually. But stay away from any software that claims to build thousands of links overnight. This is stupid SEO and will never help your website. Also stay away from completely automated tools. Ideal software should find the right blogs leaving the commenting bit to you. In my opinion, one of the best software for this purpose is the Blog Comment Demon.
2. Comment On relevant Blogs: This is self explanatory. If you want your comments to be valued by Google, they have to come from relevant blogs.
3. Leave relevant comments that add value to the blog. This will not only help you get these comments approved, it will also help in creating a network which you can utilize later.
4. Leave a links back to your website using a keyword as anchor text: most blogs allow HTML tags and hence one must use this feature. To leave link with an anchor text, simply insert this code your comment.
