Emotional Quotient Training & Certification

Emotional Intelligence came into the spotlight when Daniel Goleman published his seminal work "Emotional Intelligence, Why It Can Matter More Than IQ" in 1995. The study of Emotional Intelligence or EQ began in one form or another in the 1930's. Since that time many researchers, training and development professionals have worked with the concepts and built tools and resources to help people better understand the EQ concepts.

Our certification training program looks at a person's Emotional Intelligence, which is the ability to sense, understand and effectively apply the power and acumen of emotions to facilitate higher levels of collaboration and productivity. Emotional Intelligence is often cited as the fundamental difference in superior decision making and performance.

Research over the last 20 years has shown that individuals who have developed their Emotional Intelligence are between 40 -122% more effective, especially in roles that require influencing and guiding other's choices (such as leaders, sales and customer service).

Our program is delivered by Jennifer C. Zamecki, an Accredited Certified Professional Coach who has a wealth of knowledge and 20 + years of experience using these tools in both large global organizations & small companies.

The Meltdown Of Leadership - Build Trust With Your Team
As a leader, it is vital that you build trust with your employees. If you take a look at many businesses, this is a major problem. Employees don't trust their leadership and often with great reason.
What Breaks Trust With Employees? There are a number of reasons that team members distrust their employers. Here are some top scenarios that cause trust to be broken.
Promises are made that are broken. Maybe an individual was told they would be given a raise, moved to management, or some other career advancement. When these promises are not kept, it not only affects the one employees, but others in the company will lose trust.
The company puts employees in a position where they fail the customer. Much of the time, your team members are the ones that take criticism if the company fails to deliver to customers. Even it if it isn't the team member's fault, they still have to take the blame.
Whatever the reason for the distrust, it is on you as a leader to fix the errors and restore trust. In a perfect world, trust shouldn't have been broken in the first place. However, it happens sometimes, even if you didn't mean for it to.
How to Build Trust With Your Team - One thing that will help you when figuring out what you need to do to build trust with the team, is to first put yourself in their place. This might mean working alongside the team to see how the day to day flow of the business acts. If you already have a good understanding of that, it will help you to do what is necessary to keep their trust.
There are two main areas you need to focus on when building trust, competence and character. Let's explore each of these concepts.
Character - Character encompasses who you are as a person. Your character determines how you handle your employees, customers, and business. The characteristics you possess has a lot to do with how your team will perceive you.
Make sure that you are exhibiting integrity, which goes beyond honesty. Honesty is when you state truths. Integrity is when you do the right thing, whether anyone is looking or not.
Competence - Competence encompasses what you do. It can be your capabilities, skill sets and track record. How successful you are in your endeavors will build trust with your employees. When a boss shows true leadership skills that pay off in results, the team can trust their decisions and direction.
It is important that you make your actions and characteristics ones that your team can trust. When you have a team that trusts you, your company will be more successful. If you have a team that doesn't trust you, your business will suffer. t

Identifying Employees To Promote
As much as you may enjoy promoting deserving employees into positions of management, proceed with care. Some stellar worker bees won't make good supervisors. What's more, they may prefer to remain in their current roles.
Look for these five characteristics in those you want to promote:
Motivation. Ideally, you want to assemble a team of self-directed managers who are driven to succeed. If they express a desire to embrace new challenges-such as managing people-that's a positive sign. And if they're eager to excel, they probably can inspire a team to excel, too.
Conflict management. Promote those who demonstrate leadership in the face of conflict. The best managers grapple with conflicts without flinching. They realize that their success depends on doing what's right, not just making friends with their staffs.
Independence. You want outspoken leaders who are willing to buck conventional wisdom and challenge "the way things are always done around here." A spineless "yes" person who marches in lock-step with the top brass will make a poor leader.
Ability. Managers need to master a toolbox full of skills such as time management, interpersonal communication and delegation. Promote those who show they already possess these strengths.
Respect. Managers must command their teams' respect. Do other workers look up to this person? If not, set your sights on someone else. t
